Get Ready for Disney and Pixar’s ‘Soul’: Podcast + Soundtrack

Disney and Pixar’s newest movie Soul debuts on Disney+ tomorrow. Have you had a chance to go through the podcast or soundtrack yet?

THE PODCAST 

Soul Stories is a Spotify exclusive podcast hosted by the movie’s co-director and writer Kemp Powers. As of December 16th, there are currently three episodes.

• Jamie Foxx
• Angela Basset, Tina Fey, & Phylicia Rashad
• Pete Docter & Dana Murry

Each episode runs about 20 – 30 minutes long and gives you a chance to listen to behind-the-scenes stories from each guest(s). The next episode will feature musician-composer Jon Batiste.

THE SOUNDTRACK 

Walt Disney Records officially released the digital soundtrack and two vinyl albums on December 18th. The digital soundtrack has a total of 42 jazz and score tracks. One vinyl is called Soul Original Score and features 23 tracks by composers Trent Renzor and Atticus Ross. The other is called Music From and Inspired By Soul and features 22 tracks by Jon Batiste. Including his version of “It’s All Right.”

If you have a chance, go through the digital or vinyl albums in full. You really get a sense of how the music plays its part in the movie.
