The Mandalorian season two trailer just dropped and it is breathtaking.
“You expect me to search the galaxy and return this creature to a race of enemy sorcerers?” the bounty hunter asks in the trailer as he embarks on a new journey.
The highly-anticipated season of the first Star Wars live-action series will see the titular Mandalorian on a quest to return the Child (or who the fandom still fondly refers to as Baby Yoda) to the members of his kind. This journey will take them both to further corners of the galaxy where they may be reunited with old allies while also encountering dangerous new foes.
After a fairly contained first season, The Mandalorian will be broadening its scope as the characters explore more of the galaxy and the show introduces more elements of Star Wars canon. The trailer alone gives a glimpse of this expanding universe as Mando and the Child visit arid, mountainous planets, icy tundras, busy ports with mysterious hooded figures, large ships in raging waters, and what seems to be an underground wrestling match? Not to mention the scenes of tie fighters and space troopers.
Here is the official synopsis for the new season:
“The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire. The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Directors for the new season include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez. Showrunner Jon Favreau serves as executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson, with Karen Gilchrist serving as co-executive producer.”
New additions to the casts include Rosario Dawson, Temuera Morrison, Michael Biehn, Katee Sackhoff, and Timothy Olyphant.
The first season of the show recently received 15 Emmy nominations including that for Best Drama Series.
The Mandalorian season two will premiere on October 30 on Disney+.
“This is the way.”
