The television adaptation will center on the epic journey of Moiraine (played by Rosamund Pike), a member of the Aes Sedai, a powerful, all-female organization, who mentors five young men and women from the town of Two Rivers. One of these youths is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.
The five young people are Madeleine Madden (Picnic at Hanging Rock) as Egwene Al’vere, Marcus Rutherford (County Lines) as Perrin Aybara, Barney Harris (Starboy) as Mat Cauthon, Zoë Robins (The New Tomorrow) as Nynaeve, and Josha Stradowski (Just Friends) as Rand Al’Thor.
The Wheel of Time was adapted for television by show runner Race Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) with executive producers, Larry Mondragon, Rick Selvage, Ted Field, Mike Weber, Darren Lemke, Marigo Kehoe, and Uta Briesewitz. Rosamund Pike (Radioactive) will be one of the producers as well and Briesewitz will be directing the first two episodes.
