Amazon renews Hunters for a second season

Hunters AmazonAmazon has ordered a second season of Hunters, the conspiracy thriller drama starring Al Pacino, Logan Lerman, and Jerrika Hinton, according to a report by Deadline.

Hunters was created by David Weil and executive produced by Jordan Peele. The drama centered on a group of Nazi Hunters in 1977 New York City. They come to unveil a conspiracy involving hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials who hide in plain sight and who are working together to create a Fourth Reich in the United States.

Weil shared this enthusiastic reaction about the show’s renewal:

“I am beyond grateful to Jen and the Amazon family for their continued extraordinary support of HuntersAlongside our magnificent cast, incredible crew, and brilliant writers and producers, I am more eager than ever to share the next chapter of the Hunters saga with the world.”

Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios, shared her excitement about the renewal of the show:

The series also stars Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Tiffany Boone, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Dylan Baker and Lena Olin.

The show is based on the experiences of Weil’s grandmother, who was a Holocaust survivor and who would share stories to her grandchildren about the war. Weil seeks to bring these stories of hope, courage, and survival to the show.

Season one was produced by Amazon Studios, Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Sonar Entertainment, was executive produced by Weil who served as co-showrunner alongside executive producer Nikki Toscano. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon directed the pilot and was an executive producer alongside Win Rosenfeld from Monkeypaw Productions; Nelson McCormick; and David Ellender from Sonar Entertainment.

Season one of Hunters is currently available on Amazon Prime.
