SDCC 2020: The Dragon Prince renewed through season 7!

The Dragon Prince renewedNetflix has officially renewed The Dragon Prince not only for a fourth season but for a complete saga of seven.

At the Comic-con@Home panel for the show, it was officially announced that the animated fantasy series would be able to complete its epic story in another four seasons. The panel featured key members of the creative team including creators Justin Richmond and Aaron Ehasz and members of the voice cast such as Racquel Belmonte (Claudia), Paula Burrows (Rayla), Sasha Rojen (Ezran), Jack DeSena (Callum), Jesse Inocalla (Soren), Jason Simpson (Viren), and Erik Todd Dellums (Aaravos.)

The Dragon Prince is set in a fantasy world in the continent of Xadia where humans, elves, and dragons once lived together in harmony. Magic was derived from six primal elements: the Sun, Moon, Stars, Earth, Sky, and Ocean. But an ancient conflict involving the abuse of magic by the humans created a rift between them and the Elves and Dragons. More than a millennia later, three unlikely allies – human princes Ezran and Callum and the moon shadow elf assassin Rayla – discover the egg of the last dragon king, which hatches into the young dragon, Zym. They embark on a perilous journey to return the dragon prince to its mother and to find a way to reconcile their peoples and bring magic back to the continent. Along the way they will have to contend with a host of enemies, some using dangerous dark magic, while also forging new friendships with those they meet, whether human, elf, or some other magical creature.

The series has aired 27 episodes to date with the third season of the show having aired last November 22, 2019. No release date has been announced for the fourth season but fans can at least rest easy knowing that this excellent fantasy series will be concluding on its own terms.
