Happy Hamilton Week, everyone! We’re here! We’ve made it! By the time you read this post, we’re approximately 2 DAYS away from the release of Hamilton on Disney+. Here are some of my favorite virtual press tour moments and some notes on what you need to know before you stream.
Official Trailer/MPAA Rating:
The official trailer dropped on June 21st and it was the first footage we saw of what we can expect to experience when the film goes live on Disney+ on July 3rd. This was also the trailer that told us about the PG-13 rating.
Songs featured: “Satisfied” and “Alexander Hamilton”
Character Posters:
We got these characters on June 23rd.
The cast of #Hamilfilm takes the spotlight in these brand-new posters. Hamilton is streaming exclusively on #DisneyPlus in just 10 days. (1/3) pic.twitter.com/oukqOqOc6v

Explicit Langauge/Intermission:
There is explicit language in the show but they’ve had to make some changes to reduce it to a PG-13 rating. It looks like we’re also getting a 1-minute intermission. The movie itself is about 2 hours and 40 minutes long.
LANGUAGE!
1. On July 3, you're getting the whole show, every note & scene, & a 1-minute countdown clock during intermission (bathroom!)
2. But MPAA has a hard rule about language: more than 1 utterance of "Fuck" is an automatic R rating. We have 3 "Fucks" in our show. So…

Content Warning:
Speaking of very important topics, sex and alcohol are brought up in the show. I’m not going to tell you when the marriage scandal happens but there is a marriage scandal. Parents, if you’re not ready to have these conversations with your kids, my suggestion is to watch it by yourself first before you watch it as a family. Know what you’re getting into if you haven’t seen the show before. Just a heads up.
