Game of Thrones cast to play D&D for charity

GoT D&DSeveral members of the Game of Thrones cast will be reuniting to play D&D for Red Nose Day.

Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy), Natalia Tena (Osha), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton), Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne), and Kristian Nairn (Hodor) will return to a fantasy realm for a different kind of adventure.

According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, the Game of Thrones stars will be participating in D&D Live 2020: Roll w/ Advantage, an all-star series of virtual Dungeons & Dragons games organized to raise money for Red Nose Day to help children affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Kate Welch, game designer for D&D at Wizards of the Coast, will serve as Dungeon Master and the campaign is described as a group of heroes who “meet an unusual creature that sets them on a strange task. Seems simple enough – but in a realm legendary for its danger, all is not what it seems.”

The campaign will take place via video chat starting on June 20at 12pm PT/3pm ET. In the short teaser for the event, the stars give a glimpse of the characters they will be playing during the game and whether these will be reminiscent of their own Game of Thrones roles (and of course, Hodor’s gonna Hodor.)

Many other stars will also be participating in D&D Live 2020 which will take place from June 18-20. These include Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood, Daredevil) as Dungeon Master for a campaign with Amy Acker (Angel), Janina Gavankar (The Way Back), Matthew Lillard (Good Girls), and Sam Richardson (Veep) on June 18.

Others joining the quest will be David Harbour (Stranger Things), Brandon Routh (Legends of Tomorrow), Jay Ellis (Insecure), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever), and Felicia Day (Supernatural).

You can check out the schedule on the official D&D website.
