The Umbrella Academy became one of Netflix’s most popular series when it premiered over a year ago. We’re still a couple months out from its highly-anticipated season 2 return, and there’s no doubt that fans have been desperate for any sort of clues in the meantime. While the series is a departure from the comics, theories about that game-changing cliffhanger at the end of season 1 have run wild throughout The Umbrella Academy‘s legion of fans. Spoiler alert:
The finale of season 1 left the Hargreeves siblings at a loss, with no way out of the impending apocalypse literally happening around them except for time travel.
The question is not only where are they, but when? There have been some slightly spoilery teasers in behind-the-scenes cast pictures with some of the actors sporting wigs. Most notably, Klaus (Robert Sheehan) and Diego (David Castañeda) have been spotted with longer hair. And now, we’ve got the character posters to get a better close up. Netflix unveiled the intriguing new season 2 posters of the super-powered siblings, half their faces shadowed with umbrellas. But there are some subtle (and possibly alarming) clues hidden underneath, which fans will be agonizing over until The Umbrella Academy decides to drop a trailer. Yes, that’s Allison (Emily Raver-Lampman) with a different hairstyle, while Klaus looks like a hippie. And Five (Aidan Gallagher) has a worrying amount of blood to go with that mischievous grin of his.
Only time will tell where the Hargreeves ended up, and what it means for their futures. What do you think of the new character posters? Check them out below and share your theories in the comments!
The Umbrella Academy returns July 31 exclusively on Netflix.
