Quarantine Watchlist: ‘Happiness Continues: A Jonas Brothers Concert Film’

When the Jonas Brothers released the music video for “Sucker” in February last year, fans celebrated their triumphant return. It would be the first project they dropped as a band since they officially split in 2013. As someone who has followed them since 2006, I was so thrilled for them. There was clearly something very special about this reunion.

Amazon Prime Video released Happiness Continues: A Jonas Brothers Concert Film on April 24th and I couldn’t wait to watch it. Whether you’ve been a fan for a long time or not, this is a concert film you shouldn’t miss. The film features a live concert experience and exclusive look into life on the road with the band. The Happiness Begins Tour started in Miami, Florida at the American Airlines Arena in August 2019 and ended in Paris, France at the AccorHotels Arena in February 2020. Tour opening acts included artists Jordan McGraw, Bebe Rexha, and Livvia.

Since this was a comeback tour, the setlist included a little bit of everything. They performed new songs (songs from their reunion album “Happiness Begins”), mixed in old-school favorites (material as far back as the “It’s About Time” album), and even featured numbers from Nick and Joe’s solo work (“Jealous” and “Cake By The Ocean”). Happiness Continues: A Jonas Brothers Concert Film was directed by Anthony Mandler, has a 16+ rating, and a total run time of 1 hr and 44 min.

I submitted a fan photo for this backstage banner project. My photo is in the first row, seven photos from the left. Photo and project credit goes to the Honda Center. Thank you for letting us be a part of it!

I was able to go to the Honda Center show in Anaheim on October 6th and left with a full heart. 2019 me couldn’t believe she was at another Jonas Brothers concert again. The last time I was at that venue for a Jonas Brothers concert was in 2009! If you haven’t been to one of their shows before, the energy in that space is indescribable. Regardless of what kind of venue it is. You feel those emotions when you watch this film. You get to see how much they love being on stage together again. Breaking up isn’t easy but I’m glad they were able to have those conversations and find their way back. It’s also a joy seeing their families come together. Thank you for coming back to us! We’ll still be here for you.
