
Having premiered over a year ago in October of 2017, Netflix’s David Fincher-produced series Mindhunter opened to mostly favorable reviews earning a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Netflix and company are now ready to premiere season two of the critically acclaimed series this upcoming August 16th. Season two will once again follow FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) as they continue their pursuit in studying the mind of a serial killer.
Season two will take Ford and Tench to Atlanta, Georgia during the midst of the Atlanta murders of 1979-1981 which saw a total of 28 African American children and young adults murdered. Additionally, season two will see our protagonists come face to face with David Berkowitz, a.k.a. the Son of Sam, as well as Charles Manson, who will be played by Damon Herriman. Herriman also recently portrayed Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood.
In addition to Groff and McCallany, season two of Mindhunter will also see the return of Anna Torv (Fringe) as Dr. Wendy Carr and Cameron Britton (The Umbrella Academy) as serial killer Edmund Kemper. Joining the cast this season will be Michael Cerveris (Fringe) as the new head of Ford and Tench’s Behavioral Science Unit.
