‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Renewed for a Seventh Season!

Maybe you, like me, have been sad at the fact that there’s no new episodes of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airing until summer of 2019. Maybe you’ve been feeling like we haven’t been hearing any updates about the show at all for a while now (other than the admittedly pleasing news that it’s apparently the most popular Marvel show). But if so, there’s no need to feel sad any longer, with the surprising announcement from ABC that the show has already been given a seventh season order, as well!

TVLine reports that the announcement came from ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey on Friday – and THR points out that this makes it easily the earliest announcement for ABC’s 2019-2020 TV season. The seventh season is expected to have thirteen episodes, just like the upcoming sixth season. Also worth noting: Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson) is not listed in the cast, while Jeff Ward (Deke) is. Now, of course that doesn’t mean for sure that Coulson will never return from his apparent death at the end of season five – but it does make this Coulson fan even more nervous. #CoulsonStillLives

Either way, though, this means that a Whedon-family show will be getting seven – count them, SEVEN – seasons. I don’t know how to handle that information, other than with great excitement and happiness of course!

As a bonus, series star Chloe Bennet (Daisy Johnson/Quake) has shared a sneak peek of her character’s look in season six. And does Quake look badass or what?

Guys, I was not expecting this delightful news, but I am excited. Feel free to share your own reactions in the comments!

Season six of Agents of SHIELD will air in the summer of 2019 on ABC.
