WATCH: The first trailer for Good Omens

The first trailer for the upcoming television adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s Good Omens was released at New York Comic Con, giving us a glimpse of a fun and cheeky end of days.

The Amazon limited series will comprise of six episodes starring David Tennant as the demon Crowley and Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale. A photo of the two characters was released last year to excite fans about the series. Gaiman announced that he was working on the adaptation two years ago.

The trailer already shows us a bit of the delightful chemistry between Aziraphale and Crowley as well as glimpses of their interactions across history. The end of the world is drawing near and they are determined to save the world by joining forces somehow and from the trailer below, it certainly looks like the journey will be a unique and exciting one, with laughs and thrills rolled into one. Definitely not entirely bleak, despite the subject matter.

Good Omens boasts of an all-star cast also including Jon Hamm, Anna Maxwell Martin, Josie Lawrence, Adria Arjona, Michael McKean, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Richardson, Mireille Enos, Nina Sosanya, Ned Dennehy, Frances McDormand, Derek Jacobi, Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, and Mark Gatiss (The League of Gentlemen themselves!) and many more.

Here is the official synopsis of the series:

“The end is nigh. Coming to Prime Video in 2019. Based on the best-selling novel by renowned authors Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, this series follows the story of Aziraphale, an angel, and Crowley, a demon, who have formed an unlikely friendship spanning 6,000 years and have grown fond of life on earth. However, the end of time grows near with the approaching Armageddon and they must now join forces to find a way to save the world.”

Good Omens is set to air on Amazon in 2019.
