Netflix Announces Live-Action Avatar: The Last Airbender TV Series

Hold on to your sky bisons ATLA fans, because we’ve got some great news for you.

Netflix has officially announced that they’re working on a live-action tv series of Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender. We don’t know a lot about it yet but co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are coming back for it so that can only mean good things, right? The only sneak peak that we have of the show is this piece of concept art by John Staub.

Avatar: The Last Airbender made its television debut in 2005 and ran for a total of three seasons. The story followed Airbender/Avatar Aang and his friends as they brought back peace to the four kingdoms.

Due to its popularity, it has spurred an animated sequel (Korra), a live-action movie, comic books, and more.
