If you can’t get enough of Lost in Space, we have some good news for you. While the Netflix space adventure series has been renewed for a second season, we don’t actually have a release date yet. But, don’t worry. As the show begins production this fall, a new graphic novel series will keep fans immersed in the Robinsons’ world as we wait for the new season.

Legendary Comics has just announced an exciting four-part comic book prequel to the successful Netflix series.

Lost in Space: Countdown to Danger will shed some light on the events prior to the Robinsons’ crash-landing their Jupiter 2 in Lost in Space. Each installment will dig deeper into the backstories of the family; from the flashbacks we got throughout season one, there’s certainly a lot of material to be mined there. Fans of Dr. Smith, Don West, and of course Robot will be pleasantly surprised to learn that the comics will feature appearances by them as well. Definitely intriguing!

Countdown to Danger, written by Richard Dinnick (Doctor Who) and Brian Buccellato (The Flash) with art by Zid (Skull Island: Birth of Kong), will be released starting in October and continue through 2019. Lucky attendees of San Diego Comic Con will get an exclusive sneak peek, as Legendary will be offering a preview of the first issue. Legendary has already released the cover art for the first installment, and The Hollywood Reporter has a preview featuring Penny Robinson. Check out the gorgeous cover art below, and let us know what you think of this upcoming Lost in Space series in the comments!
