The Broadway Company of Anastasia released their version of “At The Beginning” with stars Christy Altomare (Anya) and Zach Adkins (Dmitry).
ABOUT THE SHOW
Inspired by the 1997 animated feature film, Anastasia follows the story of Anya as she gets separated from her family after their untimely murder and finds her way back to the Dowager Empress in Paris. What a lovely rendition! This was always one of my favorite songs from the animated film’s soundtrack and I’m glad the Broadway cast made version of it. I have the album for the stage show and it’s wonderful. They did a great job of replacing the cartoon villain with one more complex and well-rounded (and originally played by Ramin Karimloo, no less!) I really, really wish I could watch the show.
