WATCH: The trailer for the Sense8 finale

Netflix has released the trailer for the two-hour finale of Sense8 and we see the cluster gearing up to save one of their own.

Sense8 ran for two seasons before being cancelled by the streaming service. Passionate pleas from fans made it possible for Netflix to commission a proper series finale.

As previously reported, Sense8 tells the ambitious and extraordinary story of eight individuals from all over the world who suddenly discover that they share an inexplicably powerful bond. They have shared visions and experiences and can communicate with each other directly despite geographical distance. The series was well-received by both fans and critics, and the twelve episodes of the first season were streamed by millions of viewers.

Sense8 boasts of a wonderfully diverse all-star cast including Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Tina Desai, Tuppence Middleton, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Miguel Angel Silvestre, and Brian J. Smith as the Cluster while they are also joined by Freema Agyeman, Terrence Mann, Naveen Andrews, and Daryl Hannah.

The second season ended with a major cliffhanger: Wolfgang getting captured by the villainous forces of the shady BPO. The trailer shows that all seven of his cluster mates will be using their smarts and fighting skills to rescue him. We are also going to finally understand the mystery behind the suspicious scientists who have been plaguing the cluster for the past two seasons.

But more than anything else, the finale will be a proper farewell to the eight individuals (and their loved ones) who have forged a powerful and unique bond, never to be broken by any hardship or trial life can throw at them.

The trailer asks of both the characters and the audience:

“Even after everything we’ve been through, would any of us go back to the world we were used to?”
