Warner Bros. has unveiled the first official trailer for Teen Titans GO! To the Movies. Spinning off the hit Cartoon Network series, Teen Titans GO! To the Movies will see DC’s gang of teen heroes, Robin, Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, and Beast Boy, set out to prove to the world they are worthy enough to have their own movie, which leads to them forcing Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke, into becoming their own arch nemesis.
Directed by series creators Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, Teen Titans GO! To the Movies stars series voice actors Scott Menville as Robin, Khary Payton as Cyborg, Tara Strong as Raven, Hynden Walch as Starfire, and Greg Cipes as Beast Boy. Joining them will be Will Arnett as Slade Wilson, Kristen Bell as Jade Wilson, Halsey as Wonder Woman, Lil Yachty as Green Lantern, and Nicholas Cage as Superman. The casting of Nicholas Cage also serves as a callback to the cancelled 1990s DC project, Superman Lives, which would have starred Cage in the lead role.
The trailer features plenty of jokes and references to the overall DC Universe and animation in line with that of the ongoing Cartoon Network series. We even see an in-film movie poster poking fun at 2016’s Batman v Superman, as well as a joke poking fun at the similarities between Slade Wilson and Marvel’s Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool. Check out the trailer below and feel free to let us know what you think in the comments. Teen Titans GO! To the Movies is set to release in theaters July 27th.
