HBO’s ‘Fahrenheit 451’ to Premiere in May

HBO Films has finally released a premiere date for their highly-anticipated adaptation of Fahrenheit 451. Following a few teasers and an action-packed trailer, HBO previously hinted at a spring debut for their updated version of the timeless dystopian tale. But now we know the details, officially: Fahrenheit 451 will premiere on Saturday, May 19th (8:00-9:40 ET/PT). And if you haven’t picked up the novel (or need a refresher) before diving into this extremely relevant adaptation, you still have  plenty of time.

The drama is based on Ray Bradbury’s classic novel of the same name, depicting a future where the media is an opiate, history is rewritten and “firemen” burn books. Michael B. Jordan portrays Montag, a young fireman who forsakes his world and struggles to regain his humanity as he battles his mentor, fire captain Beatty, played by Michael Shannon. Sofia Boutella stars as Clarisse, an informant caught between the competing interests of Montag and Beatty.
