First teaser released for A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2

A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2 OlafNetflix has released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming season of A Series of Unfortunate Events featuring the dastardly Count Olaf (played by Neil Patrick Harris.)

Olaf addresses the audience while menacingly sharpening his knives, saying:

“I’m so sorry to disturb your recovery, but it’s time for us to get this New Year’s Day binge started — but those are the same people who wouldn’t recognize handsome if it set your house on fire. So dive on in, distract yourself with this first look at season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events.”

A Series of Unfortunate Events is based on the thirteen-book series of the same name that chronicles the travails of the three Baudelaire orphans as they survive one catastrophe after another and try to stay one step ahead of the nefarious Count Olaf, a villain who is determined to get his hands on their fortune. The first season aired last January 2017 and was an adaptation of the first four books in the series: The Bad Beginning, The Reptile RoomThe Wide Window, and The Miserable Mill.

A Series of Unfortunate EventsAs previously reported, the second season will adapt the next five books of the series, namely The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, The Hostile Hospital, and The Carnivorous Carnival. The show has already been renewed for a third and final season, which will conclude the series and cover the last four books.

A Series of Unfortunate Events stars Malina Weissman as Violet Baudelaire, Louis Hynes as Klaus Baudelaire, Presley Smith as Sunny Baudelaire, and Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket. As Deadline reports, the cast will be joined this season by Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly), Tony Hale (Veep, Arrested Development), Sara Rue (Impastor), Lucy Punch (Bad Teacher), and Roger Bart (Desperate Housewives).

The complete second season of A Series of Unfortunate Events will air on Netflix on March 30, 2018.
