Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim has been teasing the annual DCTV crossover, which will finally be four parts for the first time ever, for the last few weeks. But since The Flash started filming their section of it today, it seems the CW went ahead and released both the concept and key art. Here’s the tweet from the @CW_TheFlash twitter just a little while ago:

The title “Crisis on Earth X” and the inclusion of The Ray, a character who will be starring in his own CW Seed show called Freedom Fighters: The Ray later this fall, suggests that the story will partially take place on the Earth where our heroes are evil and Germany won World War II. And while a litany of superheroes from Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow fill out the border – and the background! – of the poster, there is another interesting revelation at the center. It seems that after a whirlwind of speculation, Barry Allen and Iris West will indeed be getting married at some point during the event. Congratulations, Westallen! Sidenote: we know Iris will hyphenate and be Mrs. West-Allen, so why doesn’t Barry follow suit? Food for thought!
According to producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg, the Earth X villains will be crashing the festivities. What might bring them to our Earth, and how will the heroes deal with evil versions of themselves? Barry already has some experience with that thanks to Savitar, but Kara and Oliver might especially be shaken. Other questions abound as well, such as why Kid Flash isn’t suited up in the poster, and how Zari obtains the amulet she’s wearing – but we’ll have to wait until the DCTV crossover premieres on November 27th to get more answers.
In the meantime, I’m thrilled that Iris and Barry’s couples counseling worked out so well and I hope they manage to go through with the wedding despite evil doppelgangers running about. CW’s DC shows will kick off with Supergirl on Monday, October 9th.
