The much-heralded return of Will & Grace later this month comes with some additional good news for fans. NBC and Hulu have announced an agreement that will make all 194 episodes of the Emmy Award-winning show available to stream for the first time ever.
The iconic series will be available on the NBC app, Hulu and on-demand through satellite, cable, and telco pay TV providers. It will begin Thursday, September 21, one week ahead of the return of Will & Grace on NBC.
Today’s press release announced, “Hulu will be the exclusive SVOD partner for the original eight seasons, which will also be available on the NBC App and pay TV providers with authentication.”
Fan-favorite Will & Grace originally ran for eight seasons, from 1998 to 2006. The show earned 83 Emmy Awards, with 16 wins including Outstanding Comedy Series. The show has been largely unavailable for years – much to the displeasure of its audience. This digital distribution deal will get all 194 episodes of Will & Grace to not only those who have been waiting but also a new generation of viewers.
The streaming will begin one week before Will & Grace returns with new episodes on September 28th. Then, after new episodes begin airing, they will be available a week later on Hulu.
“There’s no question that Will & Grace has resonated with audiences since the series made its broadcast premiere. To be able to bring such an iconic show into the streaming universe for the first time ever is an opportunity we couldn’t pass up,” said Joel Stillerman, Chief Content Officer, Hulu, said in the press release.
“This landmark deal will allow fans to re-watch their favorite moments ahead of the series premiere, as well as bring Will & Grace and its cast of characters to a whole new audience.”
The new season of Will & Grace will begin its 16-episode run on September 28, 2017, at 9 pm (ET). Check your local listings! It’s already been picked up for a second season with 13 additional episodes so get ready for some serious Will & Grace binge-watching.
