
Fox Searchlight has released a brand new red band trailer for The Shape of Water. Written and directed by Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pacific Rim) and co-written by Vanessa Taylor (Game of Thrones), the synopsis for The Shape of Water is as follows:
An other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment.
The upcoming romantic sci-fi/fantasy stars Sally Hawkins (The Hollow Crown), Michael Shannon (Man of Steel), and Richard Jenkins (Berlin Station), as well as frequent Guillermo del Toro collaborator Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) as the creature Hawkins’ Elisa attempts to help.
The Shape of Water releases theatrically this December 2017, though the film is already receiving praise from numerous critics after premiering at this year’s Venice Film Festival. Currently the film stands at a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes based off 37 reviews.
