Now that (almost) everyone has had a chance to get their hands on the first episode Batman: The Enemy Within and play through the complex sets of choices, Telltale has announced the release date for the second installment. Episode 2, entitled “The Pact,” will be available on September 26th through Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Not only that, but both episodes will launch simultaneously on iOS and Android-based devices – so the rest of you who haven’t yet had a chance to continue Bruce’s adventures will finally get started.
Though I’m still mourning the lack of Selina Kyle, I am very pleased to hear that Harley Quinn will debut in episode two of The Enemy Within. So far, Telltale has crafted recognizable but distinct takes on the iconic DC characters they’ve borrowed for their Batman games, and there’s no doubt Harley will continue in that vein. And what about her dynamic with the Joker – or rather, “John Doe?” Hopefully it’s closer to current comics canon and less like Suicide Squad, but we won’t know until September 26th rolls around. Check out images of both of them below:
Anthony Ingruber reprises his role as the John Doe version of The Joker while the incomparable Troy Baker is of course Bruce Wayne once more, but it seems Harley Quinn’s voice actress has yet to be revealed. I’m sure whoever she is, she will do the role justice.
For those who already played Batman: The Telltale Series, the decisions made throughout that series will optionally carry over into The Enemy Within. However, the new game can be played regardless of prior experience. This season will also include Telltale’s multiplayer Crowd Play feature, so that any family or friends connected to the game through an online device can help guide a player through Bruce Wayne’s critical life choices.
Batman: The Enemy Within is licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and based on DC’s iconic character. Episode 2, “The Pact,” has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
