Aly & AJ are back with a brand new single, ‘Take Me’

In the mid to late 2000’s, Aly and AJ were known for writing and performing songs “Rush,” “No One,” and “Potential Breakup Song.” If you were an avid Disney Channel viewer around then, you knew their songs were heavily promoted there (them being signed with Hollywood Records and all). You’re familiar then with their Disney Channel Original Movie, Cow Belles, plus Aly’s roles in Phil of the Future and Now You See It (a personal fave of mine, to be honest).

Now, after nearly a decade of not releasing music under their known group name, Aly & AJ, they’re back with new single “Take Me,” as well as an upcoming EP!

Released today, “Take Me” is a marvelous ‘comeback’ single. The track is filled to the brim with 80’s synth and beats, that you can’t help but jam out to the song in your room. With said beats and upbeat lyrics along with it, it’s nearly impossible to be in a bad mood after listening to it.

The lyric that really packs the punch for me is the line, “when you gonna take me out?” For those that get frustrated with their crushes or potential significant others not making the first move and taking you out, then I’m sure you can relate to this song.

As mentioned earlier, this is the first time Aly & AJ have put any music out under their original group name. The sisters previously were named 78violet and released the single “Hothouse” in 2013, but their album under that name never materialized. This writer believes it was due to their album being leaked prior to release. So it’s incredibly important you give this new single and EP a listen legally, guys!
