Both New and Returning Cast Announced for ‘X-Files’

New reports have come out to give us an idea of who we can expect to see (besides Mulder and Scully, of course) in season 11 of The X-Files.

TVLine has the scoop on the return of Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose as young FBI Agents Miller and Einstein, respectively. Fans may remember these characters, curiously similar to Mulder and Scully themselves, from their season 10 introduction. No announcement has been made as to how many episodes they will appear in. Based on their dynamic with the show’s original believer/skeptic duo in season 10, I would personally hope that either that number is small, or that there is less emphasis on how extremely coincidental the similarities are between the four agents (which was an annoyance for me when we first met them).

In other news, Deadline reports that Barbara Hershey has been cast in a recurring role for the upcoming season. She will play Erika Price, “a powerful figure who represents a mysterious organization.” It’s hard to know what to expect, although I would guess she may play a villain. As for the ‘mysterious organization,’ I must say, that hardly seems to narrow it down in the conspiracy-filled world of The X-Files! Hershey is Oscar-nominated, as well as being known for a recurring role in ABC’s Once Upon A Time. Other credits include recently co-starring on A&E’s drama series Damien.

Season 11 of The X-Files is expected to premiere on FOX in January of 2018. Do these announcements increase your anticipation, or make you nervous? Let us know in the comments.
