As San Diego Comic Con continues, more and more trailers and reveals are continuing to roll out. Today saw the debut of the first official teaser for the highly anticipated film Ready Player One. Based on the 2011 New York Times bestselling novel of the same name written by Ernest Cline, Ready Player One is directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Tye Sheridan (X-Men: Apocalypse), Hannah John-Kamen (Killjoys), T.J. Miller (Silicon Valley), Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One), Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel), Mark Rylance (Dunkirk), and Simon Pegg (Star Trek Beyond), among others.
For those unfamiliar with the Ernest Cline novel, the IMDb synopsis for the film is as follows:
When the creator of an MMO called the Oasis dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all Oasis users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune. Wade Watts finds the first clue and starts a race for the Egg.
With a screenplay co-written by Cline along with Zak Penn (Alphas) and Erik Eason (A Better Life), Ready Player One releases in theaters March 30, 2018. Check out Warner Bros.’ San Diego Comic Con teaser below and feel free to let us know what you think in the comments.
