Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy Head to Riverdale in DC/Archie Comics Crossover

In recent years DC Comics has published numerous comic book crossovers with the likes of IDW Publishing and Dynamite Entertainment. Now they are colliding with Archie Comics in a new mini-series entitled Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica. Written by Harley Quinn co-creator Paul Dini and former Batwoman scribe Marc Andreyko, the upcoming crossover will see Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn kidnap Veronica Lodge and Betty Cooper after a new proposal threatens to drain the wetlands between Gotham City and Riverdale.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Paul Dini expressed his excitement over working in the Archie Comics universe as well as teaming up with his friend Marc Andreyko:

It’s the sort of offer you scream out ‘YES!’ to before your eyes reach the middle of the email. I’ve always wanted the chance to play in Riverdale and to help Harley and Ivy invade it is a dream come true. Marc’s a great talent and a good friend. Writing this series with him has been like sitting on the lawn during summer vacation and reading a big pile of DC and Archie comics. Except we have to stay indoors and type a lot.

Spanning six issues, the upcoming crossover will feature art by Laura Braga (DC Comics Bombshells), with main covers by Amanda Conner (Harley Quinn) and variants by Adam Hughes (Betty & Veronica). The first issue of Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica is set to arrive in comic book shops and digital platforms October 4. Check out Amanda Conner’s cover for issue #1 below
