Sandra Oh stars in BBC America’s Killing Eve

Sandra Oh Killing EveSandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy, Sideways) will return to television in the highly anticipated drama Killing Eve, which will air on BBC America.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Crashing) will be the showrunner for this eight-episode drama thriller, described as “a combination of brutal mischief-making and pathos, filled with sharp humor, originality and high stakes action.”

Waller-Bridge expressed how thrilled she was about the project:

“I am quivering with excitement about working with Sandra! I have been a huge fan of hers forever and am pinching myself that she is playing our Eve. She is going to be so badass in this role.”

According to a report by Deadline, joining Oh in the series is Jodie Comer (Thirteen, The White Princess, Doctor Foster) as Eve’s nemesis, the elegant and deadly killer Villanelle.

Here is the synopsis of the show, according to BBC America:

“Based on the novellas by Luke Jennings, BBCA’s Killing Eve centers on two women; Eve is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade security services operative whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle is an elegant, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Killing Eve topples the typical spy-action thriller as these two fiercely intelligent women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.”

Phoebe Waller-Bridge will serve as showrunner and executive producer, alongside executive producers Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris. The series is produced by Sid Gentle Films.

A crime thriller with an intriguing premise, two fascinating female leads going head to head, starring two award-winning actresses, and a show produced by a team of amazing talents, Killing Eve has so much going for it and I cannot wait to see it!
