A big clue about the upcoming season of Once Upon a Time has been unveiled by the showrunners.
Co-creator Adam Horowitz tweeted that the title of the premiere episode will be “Hyperion Heights,” leading to much speculation among fans about what new stories will be explored when the show returns. With Jennifer Morrison (and several other series regulars) leaving the show at the end of the sixth season and with the story set up for adult Henry Mills taking over her legacy as the protagonist of the show, Once Upon a Time will be following a whole, new direction.
According to some research by TV Guide:
“In Greek mythology, Hyperion was one of 12 children born to Gaia, Mother of Earth, and Uranus, Father of the Heavens. He himself was said to be the Father of Heavenly Lights because of his three children with wife Theia: Eos (Dawn), Helios (Sun) and Selene (Moon).”
Once Upon a Time explored some Greek mythology back in its fifth season during the arc in the Underworld so this would not be too much of a surprise. However, it is possible that Hyperion Heights refers to a location, possibly the new Storybrooke.
Eddy Kitsis talked to TVGuide about the upcoming season, saying:
“I would say that the main premise of the show is fairy-tale characters in the real world in search of their happy endings… That is going to continue next year with Henry in the lead. What we think is a new version and a new adventure.”
Apparently, adult Henry will continue his journey through magical realms with help from Captain Hook/his stepfather (Colin O’Donoghue), Regina/the former Evil Queen and his adoptive mother (Lana Parrilla), and Rumpelstiltskin/his grandfather (Robert Carlyle.)
Once Upon a Time will air every Friday on ABC.
