Watch the trailer for The Foreigner starring Jackie Chan

The ForeignerThe first trailer for Jackie Chan’s intense thriller, The Foreigner, has just been released.

At first glance, The Foreigner looks to be yet another version of Taken but it’s got Jackie Chan in it as the vengeful father out for justice so I’m not complaining.

According to an article by the A.V. Club, the film is based on the 1992 novel, The Chinaman, by Stephen Leather.

Here is the official synopsis of the film:

The Foreigner, starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan, is a timely action thriller from the director of Casino Royale.

The film tells the story of humble London businessman Quan (Chan), whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love – his teenage daughter (played by Katie Leung from the Harry Potter films) – is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism.

In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official (Brosnan), whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive killers.”

The Foreigner opens worldwide on October 13, 2017.
