‘Batman and Harley Quinn’ Release Date and Blu-ray Details Emerge

Last week DC Entertainment released the first full trailer for their upcoming Bruce Timm-produced animated film, Batman and Harley Quinn. Directed by Sam Liu (Teen Titans: The Judas Contract), the film stars Batman: The Animated Series alums Kevin Conroy and Loren Lester as Batman and Nightwing respectively, as well as The Big Bang Theory‘s Melissa Rauch as Harley Quinn. Batman and Harley Quinn sees Batman team up with the infamous Harley Quinn in an effort to take down Poison Ivy (Paget Brewster) and the Floronic Man (Kevin Michael Richardson).

DC Entertainment has now announced the official release date for the upcoming film, as well as details for its Blu-ray and DVD release. Like most DC animated films, the film will be available digitally before being released physically on Blu-ray and DVD. The film will be released digitally ($19.99 HD, $14.99 SD) August 15 and on Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack ($44.98 SRP), Blu-ray Deluxe Giftset ($39.99 SRP), Blu-ray Combo Pack ($24.98 SRP), and DVD ($19.98 SRP) August 29. With the exception of the standard DVD edition, all Blu-ray editions will feature a Digital Copy as well.

In addition to the film itself, the Blu-ray editions will contain a slew of special features including the following:

The Harley Effect (Featurette): Harley Quinn, has a deep history with the fans of the DC Universe. This featurette traces her humble roots from her creators, to those that portray her at Comic book conventions. She is a symbol of strength and beloved by many.

Loren Lester: In His Own Voice (Featurette): This documentary examines actor Loren Lester’s legacy within Batman The Animated Series, Dick Grayson’s character, and the popularity that surrounds Lester’s interpretation of the Boy Wonder.
