Fox Cancels ‘Making History’

Making History

Making HistoryIt happens every TV season – new shows premiere on various channels and they’re either well or poorly received (from a critics standpoint, ratings, and fan base). Then come the time for networks to plan their schedules for the upcoming TV season, they have to cancel shows to make room for new ones. It’s the circle of a TV show’s life if you think about it.

Unfortunately, Fox’s Making History was one of these cancelled TV series. Alongside the time traveling show, Son of Zorn and APB were all axed from Fox’s lineup for the 2017-2018 season.

The cancellation isn’t entirely shocking, given that before the series even premiered, Fox trimmed it from a 13 episode first season to only 9 episodes. Another factor is that the show’s ratings only averaged about 1.5 million people (0.7 in the 18-49 adult demographic).

Making History was one of the many time travel related shows that premiered this year. These other shows included: NBC’s Timeless, ABC’s Time After Time, and CW’s Frequency. Of these time travel shows, only Timeless got the unexpected renewal (NBC originally cancelled it, but a uproar of fans brought on the season renewal).

Making History‘s season series finale airs tonight at 8:30/7:30c on Fox!
