Mark your calendars, X-Philes. Following the recent confirmation of the show’s renewal, FOX has now specified that we can expect ten episodes to air in mid-season of 2018.
Screenrant points out that FOX’s press release does not list an exact date, but their announcement of 2018 suggests a time period similar to that of the original revival last year – namely late January.
The press release also confirms that Chris Carter will be on board as showrunner, which is no surprise. (I only hope that he allows a number of guest writers to contribute, as I haven’t found writing to be his strong point). With ten episodes this time around, we can speculate that there may be a more balanced split between mythology and standalone episodes, as well.
Will your enthusiasm for more X-Files last until a potential January 2018 premiere date? Let us know in the comments.
