Watch the new American Gods trailer

American GodsAnother new trailer has been released for American Gods, featuring comments from the cast and creators of the show.

This latest trailer, with the caption: “A Storm is Brewing,” again gives us a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s novel. American Gods is about a brewing conflict between the old and new gods, all of whom depend on worship to survive. Caught in the middle of all this is Shadow Moon (played by Ricky Whittle), an ex-convict enlisted by the mysterious Mr. Wednesday (played by Ian McShane) to help him on his mission.

“I think I may be losing my mind,” Shadow Moon says.

“There are bigger sacrifices one might be asked to make than going a little mad,” Mr. Wednesday enigmatically replies.

The trailer has comments from Whittle, Neil Gaiman himself, executive producer Michael Green, Bruce Langley, and showrunner Bryan Fuller. There are also glimpses of some of the gods such as Technical Boy, Bilquis, and a fairly long and ominous sequence with Kristin Chenoweth’s Easter (or Spring) preparing to show the world the extent of her powers.

“War is coming,” Neil Gaiman says, “and Wednesday and Shadow are going across America to enlist old gods in a war against the new gods.”

American Gods also stars Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis, Bruce Langley as Technical Boy, Crispin Glover as Mr. World, Orlando Jones as Anansi, Gillian Anderson as Media, Kristin Chenoweth as Easter, Jonathan Tucker as Low Key Lyesmith, Cloris Leachman as  Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare as  Czernobog, Chris Obi as Mr. Jacquel, Demore Barnes as Mr. Ibis, Corbin Bernsen as Vulcan, and Mousa Kraish as The Jin.

Several other trailers have been released as well as the opening sequence of the show.

American Gods will premiere on April 30 on Starz.
