Having initially premiered in 2013, Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe has continued to run successfully since, bringing forth a rich story line with strong lead and supporting characters. One of Steven Universe‘s strongest attributes has been its original music which is not only well written, but supports the overall story of the series.
With this idea in mind, Cartoon Network has announced that an official soundtrack for the series will be released this summer on all major streaming platforms. While specifics on the tracklisting have yet to be released, the album entitled Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 1 is said to feature remastered versions of songs from the series handpicked by series creator Rebecca Sugar.
Here’s what Sugar had to say about the upcoming release:
I can not say enough about how much I love each of these tracks! But I can say that this is the best they’ve ever sounded! Please blast them! Please sing along! That’s what these are for! If the music of Steven Universe has been a tiny piece of the score of your life, please know that I am so honored. I hope you’ll love this album as much as we loved making it.
As of right now Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 1 is set to release digitally on June 2, 2017 and no physical media versions have been announced. We’ll keep you posted as more updates on the album’s track listing come through.
