Hulu will be taking viewers down a dark and eerie path with the upcoming horror series Castle Rock, set in the world of Stephen King’s novels. Fans of King’s works will be especially thrilled by this new project, soon to be available on Hulu’s streaming services.
According to Hulu, the show is described as “combining the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.” The suspense/thriller show will “explore the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.”
Castle Rock is the name of a fictional Maine town linked to many of the works of acclaimed author Stpehen King, including Cujo, The Dark Half, It, Needful Things, The Body, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, and many more.
The first season of the drama will comprise of 10 episodes and will be produced by J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Ben Stephenson, and Liz Glotzer.
Hulu recently released the series adaptation of another of King’s works, 11.22.63. Two feature films based on King’s works are due to be released this year, The Dark Tower and It.
