The latest plot synopsis for Thor: Ragnarok reveals that the Asgardian god of thunder, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will be involved in an epic battle against the Incredible Hulk / Dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo).
The Hollywood Reporter reveals the exact synopsis for the epic upcoming Thor film (directed by Taika Waititi):
“In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his home world and the end of the Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela (played by Cate Blanchett). But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”
So it looks like this epic battle will be a re-match of the fight between the two characters in the first Avengers film back in 2012. Just when we thought that these two would not engage in the intra-Avenger quarrels that happened to everyone else during Captain America: Civil War, it seems like Thor and Hulk will have to fight each other after all, and the stakes might be higher than ever.
As previously reported, joining Blanchett as Hela are new cast members Jeff Goldblum who will be playing the “eccentric” Grandmaster, an Elder of the Universe; Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, an Asgardian warrior who has also served as a hero on Earth on the Avengers and the Defenders; and Karl Urban as Skurge, also known as The Executioner, another potential enemy for Thor.
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for release on November 3.
