Production Begins on ‘Young Justice’ Season Three

yj_s3_posterYoung Justice fans, rejoice! Production on season three has officially begun. This week Warner Bros. Animation made the announcement that all-new episodes of the formerly cancelled, fan-favorite DC television series are currently in the works, though details on a premiere date and network partner have not be released.

Since the series’ cancellation in 2013, fans and creators have been longing for the series to return. At times all hope had seemed lost, but fortunately now fans have something more to look forward to. Here’s what Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation, had to say about the series’ return:

The affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us. We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.

Even though the finale of season two succeeded at wrapping up plenty of loose ends, it also ended on a pretty big cliffhanger involving the major DC villain Darkseid. While details on season three’s plot remain scarce, based off Warner Bros’ press release, we can expect the teenage superheroes, Nightwing, Robin, Aqualad, Superboy, Miss Martian, Kid Flash, and more to return. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on more Young Justice related news as more updates come through.
