Meet Count Olaf in A Series of Unfortunate Events

Count Olaf A Series of Unfortunate EventsNetflix has just released a new trailer for their adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events, giving us a first glimpse of Neil Patrick Harris as the villainous Count Olaf.

According to IGN, another new trailer for the television adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events shows more scenes from the show as well as the faces of the some of the main characters (and the villain too, of course.)

The upcoming show is a television adaptation of the thirteen book series, also named A Series of Unfortunate Events. It chronicles the tragic fates of the three Baudelaire orphans and their struggles with the evil Count Olaf, who is after their inheritance, and will do anything he can to get it.

Another teaser was released earlier featuring Lemony Snicket himself warning viewers about the dire nature of the story.

Other than Harris, A Series of Unfortunate Events also stars Partick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, Joan Cusack as Justice Strauss, Malina Weissman as Violet Baudelaire, and Louis Hynes as Klaus Baudelaire. The first three books were adapted to the big screen in 2004 with Jim Carrey as Count Olaf.

“He’s a thief and murderer and so far has escaped capture,” a voice over describes the main antagonist.

“He’s horrible, awful,” another voice despairs.

Then we finally get a quick glimpse of Count Olaf himself, who declares menacingly:

“You haven’t the faintest idea.”

All episodes of A Series of Unfortunate Events will be available on Netflix on January 13, 2017.
