Marvel Comics has plans to bring America Chavez, a.k.a. Ms. America, into her own ongoing series beginning in 2017. Originally introduced in 2011 and created by writer Joe Casey and artist Nick Dagrotta, Ms. America’s new ongoing was announced during New York Comic Con weekend on Twitter. Little information has been given as of yet, but what we do know for sure is the series will be called America and we have a first look at the potential issue #1 cover art by artist Jamie McKelvie (Young Avengers). Check it out below.

Interestingly enough this series will debut the same year as Image Comics’ All-America Comix, which features a new character by the name of America Vasquez also created by Casey and Dragotta. All-America Comix was initially announced last July. Although both characters will share some obvious characteristics, being that two entirely different publishers are behind each respective character we’ll be sure to receive two very unique series.
