The season five premiere of Arrow is right around the corner, and now The CW has revealed a final trailer to get fans hyped for the upcoming season. As promised, it seems the upcoming season will be more grounded and feel more in line with the first two seasons of the series rather than the last magic-filled fourth season. Oliver Queen may even be back to his old ways, possibly killing the villains of Star City rather than just capturing them. This is evident in some clips where he stabs someone in their stomach and drops someone off a building.
In earlier promos it felt like this season’s main villain would be Ragman, played by Joe Dinicol (Betas, Blindspot) and the ending of the trailer implies that as well. That being said this trailer also shows clips in which Ragman seemingly teams up with the new Team Arrow, consisting of returning character Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and new additions Evelyn Sharpe (Madison McLaughlin) and Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez).
The Walking Dead alum Chad L. Coleman also makes an appearance as a new villain by the name of Tobias Church. Additionally, we see a first glimpse of Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables) as Leonid Kovar, the villain of this season’s flashback sequences, which will take place primarily in Russia. We also get some very brief shots of WWE wrestler Cody Rhodes, a.k.a. Stardust, beating people with a shovel and emerging out of some mist. Fans of Arrow and actor Stephen Amell will recall Amell going up against Stardust at last year’s SummerSlam. Now we’ll be able to see the two go up against each other one more time.
Season five of Arrow premieres Wednesday, October 5 at 8/7c on The CW. Check out the latest trailer below.
