An exciting new promo and an intriguing photo of new character King Ezekiel have been released for the upcoming season of The Walking Dead.
“We’ve been looking for you,” says a voiceover in the clip.
The latest promo is a short but thrilling clip revealing not only King Ezekiel and some new faces, but some familiar characters as well. We catch up with Morgan Jones (played by Lennie James), who had split up from the main group to follow Carol (played by Melissa McBride). They meet another group of new characters.
“I can’t let you die out there,” Morgan says with conviction in the promo.
King Ezekiel (played by Khary Payton) makes a majestic appearance with a staff/scepter and a tiger, and declares: “I am King Ezekiel…Welcome to the kingdom.”
According to an article on Variety, The Walking Dead season 7 will consist of 16 episodes, split into two halves: the first 8 airing in the fall and the other 8 airing in February 2017.
The first half will see the main group terrorized by the vicious Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a tyrant who imposes oppressive conditions on all he captures. How they manage to survive this newest hardship will be something to see. And the season premiere will also finally answer that suspenseful cliffhanger from the previous season finale, with one member of the group falling victim to Negan’s wrath.
The Walking Dead season 7 will premiere on October 3 on AMC.
