Supergirl Season 2 Stills Released

Supergirl kicked things off into high gear a month before its second season premieres on the CW. Not only did they release promotional images for the first episode, which we’ll discuss in a moment, they also released the first trailer:

Of course, the teaser contains no new footage, but it’s an important reminder to old viewers that the show’s new home is on the CW and not CBS. The cast have acknowledged that they feel more at home on the younger-skewing network, so hopefully that’s reflected in the new season. Now for some eye candy!

Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart)

Calista Flockhart will be reprising her role as Kara’s tough but fair boss Cat Grant for at least six episodes, according to Indiewire. She will be in the premiere, called “The Adventures of Supergirl,”  but we’ve got to wait to find out what sends her away from CatCo. In the meantime, we’ve got some new characters to meet…

Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath)

Like Lena Luthor, for example, Lex’s younger sister who is known to be a telepath in the comics. Her reasons for being in National City are unclear as of yet, but thankfully Supergirl will have some help in case she’s up to no good.

Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks)

In the form of her super-powered cousin (who also happens to be her boyfriend’s best friend), Clark Kent. Based on the stills, it looks like Clark will drop in first as his human alter ego. Superman and Supergirl will join forces in their fully costumed glory by the second episode, appropriately titled “The Last Children of Krypton.”
