‘Galavant’ Alum Joins ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Cast For S4

The new season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. just got a little more bitchin’ (Galavant season two joke – watch it if you haven’t already) by the addition of Galavant actress Mallory Jansen. And her role? In the season three finale, we already saw the very beginning of her introduction: CinemaBlend reports that she’ll be playing Dr. Radcliffe’s artificial intelligence entity known as Aida (or A.I.D.A. – Artificial Intelligence Data Analyzer, in the comics). The comic book version is also a Life-Model Decoy, which could be a pretty significant introduction to the Marvel TV universe.

Our first glimpse of the robotic Aida was very vague, so it will be interesting to see how Jansen portrays her in the upcoming season. I’m looking forward to seeing more from Jansen, too, who was fantastic as the semi-evil Queen Madalena in Galavant.

Are you excited to see what Aida will be like as a character, or just feeling extra nostalgic for a certain canceled-before-its-time musical comedy? Let us know in the comments.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season four begins Tuesday September 20 at 10pm on ABC.
