From Christopher Nolan, the director of The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception, Dunkirk tells the story of the Battle of Dunkirk, France which took place in 1940 during World War II. Both written and directed by Nolan, Dunkirk stars Nolan film alums Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception), as well as Kenneth Branagh (Wallander), James D’Arcy (Agent Carter), Mark Rylance (The BFG), Harry Styles of the band One Direction, and more.
Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first official teaser trailer for the upcoming film and it is very, very cryptic. Much like the initial teaser trailer released for Nolan’s Inception, the teaser for Dunkirk doesn’t reveal anything more than a few still shots and some text. Check it out:
Dunkirk is currently set to release in theaters July 19, 2017.
