‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Has Cast Its New Boss

If you’ve been among the many people wondering just who Coulson was referring to in the season three finale flash-forward when he said he needed to talk to “the Director”, wonder no more: TV Guide reports that Jason O’Mara, star of Terra Nova and recent guest star on The Good Wife, will be stepping into Coulson’s shoes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s fourth season.

Says Marvel’s Jeph Loeb about the casting decision and O’Mara’s Director:

Bringing Jason into the mix as the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. forces everyone, particularly Coulson, to reevaluate their role in the Agency. Jason has both the physical presence and acting dynamics that will connect with and challenge even the most loyal agent.

As for a description of what the new boss will be like, all we have is this tantalizing clue: apparently his “Marvel roots go back to the 1940s”.
