New Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Trailer

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them new trailer 1Another trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was released at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, featuring more characters and creatures from the magical new film.

“There are strange things going on all over the city,” a voice narrates in the trailer, “The people behind this are not like you and me. There’s a hidden society that goes back centuries.”

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a first of a planned trilogy of films exploring events before the Harry Potter series. These films will focus on the adventures of magi-zoologist Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne) as he arrives in 1920s New York with a case full of magical and dangerous creatures. The setting is particularly challenging as Muggles (or No-Majes, as Americans call them) are wary of things they cannot understand, and the wizarding community of New York has taken pains to remain hidden and secret.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them new trailer 2The trailer shows more of Colin Farrell’s Graves as well as Dan Fogler’s Jacob Kowalski, a Muggle who gets embroiled in an adventure he never would have imagined. We also see quick scenes with Katherine Waterston’s Porpentina Goldstein and Alison Sudol’s Queenie. There are also scenes of destruction and chaos caused by some of Newt’s magical creatures.

“Don’t panic,” Newt Scamander tries to reassure a group of terrified policemen, “There’s absolutely nothing to worry about.”

His words don’t give anyone a lot of confidence and it is clear that things have gotten way out of his control.

The rest of the cast of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them are Samantha Morton as Mary Lou and Ezra Miller as Credence. The film will be directed by Harry Potter veteran David Yates and the screenplay was written by J.K. Rowling herself.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will hit theaters on November 18, 2016.
