Supergirl casts Chris Wood as Series Regular

LooChris Woodks like the DC universe will keep expanding on television this fall. CW fan favorite Chris Wood is set to join the cast of Supergirl next season.

According to TVLine, Chris Wood (The Vampire DiariesContainment) will enter the show early on in the season. His role is a mystery at the moment, but he will play a known DC Comics character. No other details are available at this time, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start speculating!

Chris isn’t the only series regular Supergirl added this season, as Floriana Lima was cast as gay police captain Maggie Sawyer. CW also announced a number of recurring roles: Teen Wolf‘s Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent, Cougar Town‘s Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr, and last but not least Wonder Woman‘s Lynda Carter as the President.

So who do you think Chris might be? He plays the villain well, but sometimes it’s fun to play a hero. Perhaps an iconic role like Hal Jordan or Dick Grayson might be in the mix? If Superman can show up, anyone can! He could also take on Power Boy, who has interacted with Supergirl in the comics before.

Supergirl‘s first season ended with a cliffhanger in the form of a Kryptonian pod landing on Earth. Find out who’s inside when the show returns October 10th at 8pm on The CW!
