Wreck-it-Ralph sequel coming in 2018

Wreck-it-RalphA follow-up to Disney’s 2012 film, Wreck-it-Ralph, is due to be released in 2018, this time with the titular character wrecking the Internet.

In a report by Deadline, it was confirmed by Wreck-it-Ralph director Rich Moore, writer Phil Johston, and star John C. Reilly that a second installment of the video game adventure was currently in the works.

The team behind the first film will work together on the sequel. Reilly and Sarah Silverman will be reprising their voice roles as Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz.

Moore told Deadline:

“From the moment we started working on the first Wreck-it-Ralph, we knew there were so many possibilities with these characters…This time, Ralph’s wrecking wreaks havoc on the web, as only he can do. Characters we loved in the first film are back, and we are ecstatic to be working with them – and the actors who voice them – once again.”

The Wreck-it-Ralph sequel is due to be released on March 9, 2018.
