A gallery of new photos has just been released showing the main cast of upcoming stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, in full costume. An article in The Guardian shows the full gallery of photos.

As previously reported, the stage play is a continuation of the Harry Potter saga, following the main trio as adults, 19 years after the conclusion of the final book in the series. The official synopsis reads:

“It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”

The play was written by Jack Thorne and J.K. Rowling and is directed by John Tiffany. It will be presented in two parts. Both parts will run in the theatre simultaneously, split between matinee and evening performances.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Granger WeasleysHarry Potter and the Cursed Child stars Jamie Parker as Harry Potter, Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley, and Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger. Other than solo pictures of the main trio, the gallery also includes family photos of the Potter and the Granger-Weasley households.

In Harry’s family picture are Harry himself, his wife Ginny (played by Poppy Miller), and their youngest son Albus Potter (played by Sam Clemmett). Ron and Hermione are shown with their daughter, Rose Granger-Weasley (played by Cherrelle Skeete.) The rest of the cast was previously announced.

For those who will not be able to travel to London to see the play, the script will be published as a book by Little Brown.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will make its debut at the Palace Theatre, in London’s West End, on July 30.
